The Forgotten Powers Of Telepathy

Telepathy means ‘feelings over a distance’. Telepathy is the direct transmission of emotions or mental imagery from one person to another without using words, sight, hearing, touching, tasting, or smelling.

Telepathic communication is therefore communication on another level entirely. Indeed, many animal trainers and scientists researching the ways animal communicate have become convinced beyond the shadow of a doubt that animals are using telepathic communications in addition to other means of reaching each other, and sometimes their telepathic communications extend over vast distances.

It is believed that many natives who have not been modernized may be able to share ideas through telepathy. This is an amazing observation in this technical day and age.

Even though telepathy is not a widely spoken about, it is not as uncommon as you might think. This used to be a regular occurrence in human behavior. Just as much as what your native tongue or what you look like depends on where and who you are born to, telepathy used to be the same. It is thought that those who do not naturally feel the telepathy, can be trained to remember it again. That most just have a learning problem as someone with dyslexia has a problem with letters and numbers.

It is sad to say that we have lost much of our telepathic ability when once it was as pronounced in some as being musical can bring out a response from another.

As mentioned before, telepathy has some times gone by the sixth sense. Another common analogy for telepathy is the third eye. This is the eye that sees beyond our normal vision.

Intuition is a form of telepathy. You know that feeling that someone is watching your or the hair on your arms starts to tingle? That is telepathy in its purest form. Most of the time when you have these feelings, you are correct in your assessment. How many times have your children woken you up by just looking at you while you sleep, intuitively, even in your sleeping state you sense that someone is there and wake up.

It may be wondered by some when did we stop having more profound telepathy as opposed to intuition. More formalized religion can surely take some of the blame. Most forms of structured religious beliefs do not adhere to the fact that telepathy exists, instead it is assumed and associated with darker cultures. This gives the common man a fear of what telepathy can do that may be evil.

These religions among us have come to have such power over society that a great many people have been taught to put no faith in telepathy, but only in ‘the Messiah’ or ‘the Savior’ or ‘the Prophet’ rather than in their own natural abilities.

Because of the celestial quality of formalized religious gods, whether they be Christian, Jewish or Muslim, most of the traditional influential people have nixed the idea of telepathy as it does not fit in with faith of said gods. It is rare, but more modern day theology pursuers are beginning to realize that telepathy may indeed exist.

Scientists have a basic need to be able to explain any event. Because of the elusive nature of telepathy, they do not believe it exists even though many people have had these experiences in their lives. A lot of testing has been done on known telepaths but still the scientific community as a whole has discounted these revelations. They assume there is some type of hoax involved as some of these tests have not been in controlled situations.

Yet, emotions and instincts are known and accepted to exist by scientists. So it would seem that what we have here is simple prejudice: scientists can feel emotions themselves so they have to accept them. Instincts can also be felt by humans, and instincts are needed to explain much animal behavior, so they feel compelled to accept them, too. Yet these things are as elusive as telepathy.

Whether scientists choose to call it instinct or just refuse to believe because they do not experience it themselves is mute, the point is it just because you do not feel it does no mean it does not exist.

As to why humanity began losing touch with telepathy at all, perhaps it’s as simple as the Tower of Babylon story–perhaps the languages that were confused by God or the gods were not just those of speech but also the language of telepathy.

What Exactly Is Mental Telepathy?

The term ‘mental telepathy’ is misleadingly broad. It essentially means the direct communication of thoughts between people without using the basic five senses. There is a huge difference, however, between having a creepy feeling that someone is watching you and being able to pick the plans for a nuclear reactor out of an unsuspecting scientist’s mind. Mental telepathy covers a huge range of abilities from very basic to fairly complex. This article will attempt to explain the different levels of mental telepathy.

NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION

If you are a parent who has tried to tell your kid or spouse something non-verbally by using your body language, eyes and facial expressions, then you would know what Kinesics or non-verbal communication is. In this form of non verbal communication almost everything can be said without speaking by merely using the eyes and expressions and body language. For this kind of communication you need to know the other person well in order to communicate effectively. Its most effective between parents, children, lovers and intimate friends.

This may not count as mental telepathy, as the two people are using their senses to communicate, just not verbally and this is correct. However, mental telepathy plays a role, because their minds are more attuned to each other because of extended exposure to the way the others mind may think and some predictability comes into play, so there is a sort of mental connection. Two people that know each other well enough to understand more subtle body language, or have created nonverbal signals to communicate, might be argued that it is not be classified as mental telepathy.

EMOTIONAL TELEPATHY:

When you can understand and perceive the emotional state of the other person, then this ability is known as empathy. Many people can do this well and many cant because the ability to put your self in somebody else’s shoes is not inherent. However one can develop empathy with preparation and observation. This fact can be seen in actors who can not only emulate the emotional states of others but also enhance their empathy so much that they can laugh and cry exactly like the other person.

Sympathetic pain or truly feeling the pain of the other person is often experienced by many. This can be particularly prevalent in mothers who even develop a fever when their children are sick. There are times when close friends or relatives actually feel the pain whether it’s emotional or physical or even mental of the other person. Then there is something known as long distance empathy which all of us have known and experienced at one time or the other. This happens when some one real close to us has problem or gets hurt or even is in danger and is somewhere else and we feel their pain and emotion.

Overactive imagination has been blamed by some psychologists and they feel other senses are being used, so it doesn’t count as mental telepathy. How would you explain the phenomena of long-distance empathy, when you are not in proximity to the person? This might explain the feelings experienced if you have sympathetic pain after seeing your child break his arm, however.

CONCRETE CONCEPTS

This is the thought transference of concrete symbols and objects between two minds. Mental telepathy at this level must by necessity move beyond the regular five senses, and often requires a designated sender and receiver, intense concentration, training, and practice.

Here the principle is that simpler concepts are easily communicated. For instance an animal is more difficult to communicate than a shape or color.

Zener cards often used in mental telepathy test are an example of this principle. Simple, concrete black-and-white symbols (a circle, square, star, plus sign, and three wavy lines), gives even a random guess a 20% chance of being right. On the other hand, a shared, known, limited set of concrete symbols may increase the coordination of the thoughts between sender and receiver. A success rate of 50% or higher (which have happened) can not be explained away by simple statistics, but may indicate a level of mental telepathy, instead.

ABSTRACT COMMUNICATION:

This level of mental telepathy involves more advanced abstract concepts than shapes and colors. Here people communicate ideas, values and actions, which is quite tough the success rate is quite low. Telepaths seldom achieve this level and the ones who do are pretty rare.

Interestingly there are certain animals which can communicate effectively and we have still not discovered their modus operandi. Telepathy may be one of the methods. In this kind of communication between animals very basic abstract concepts will be involved. Since animals do not have prefrontal lobes which enhance complex communication, this communication will be restricted to basic impulses like thirst hunger and even danger.

While humans may have once been capable of telepathy, as the species evolved and developed language, it was no longer needed as a form of communication. With the right stimulation humans may be able to call upon this dormant ability that includes abstract communication of ideas. Mental telepathy could be used to communicate, without the need for the use of the five senses.

However, there are some who feel that man may be able to develop ESP and telepathy and such psychic abilities in the near future. As man’s psychic powers grow it may be possible for the entire race to become telepathic in the future.

Learn Telepathy - A Natural Way To Communicate

We human beings can all learn telepathy. Telepathy translates into sensing/transmitting feelings at a distance, and/or doing so without using the five physical senses and without using words. In other words, this is mind-to-mind communication that can often be exchanged instantly even over vast distances.

If you think you can’t learn telepathy, it’s time to reassess things. You may already have had a telepathic experience of some kind, but there’s a good chance you didn’t know that was what was happening. You may not have noticed it at all! One common type is thinking about someone you haven’t thought about or talked to for a long time, then getting a phone call or email from them shortly afterward.

What happened was, one or both of you telepathically made contact with the other, transmitting emotions of affection, longing, wonder at their current state of affairs, or something like that.

This kind of contact is what sparked the verbal contact. Whether you thought about them first and they received your feelings and decided to contact you, or they signaled to you, telepathic contact was made. Thoughts of that person returned to them and they chose to make contact. You may even have identified their plans to make contact before it actually happened.

Many people believe that they can’t learn telepathy for one reason or another. This might be because they have a religious background that teaches them that this kind of contact is evil or sorcerous. In these cases, they don’t try to learn it, and suppress their existing telepathic experiences. Many people have also been told that telepathy is irrational and superstitious, due to the lack of available scientific evidence.

One real barrier that people find when learning telepathy is believing a particular myth. This idea is that regular, spoken language is less important or useful than telepathy, that’s it’s inferior. Some people think that as our telepathic abilities decayed over time, we were forced to learn speech. This isn’t any more true than the belief that telepathy is a product of Satan. Words and telepathy can go together just like the words to a song go with the music.

In this analogy, the lyrics to a song are spoken language, and the music is telepathic contact. Each is an enhancement of the other. After all, telepathic feelings are rarely well defined - words sharpen and clarify them. This is why we use words in the first place. However, dependence on language can cause people not to communicate in a telepathic fashion, leading to fewer and fewer people using this method of communication.

So, if your interest is peaked and you want to open up new doors of perception and closeness with other people, how can you learn telepathy? It’s actually not nearly as difficult as it sounds to the uninitiated. All it takes is what everything takes: practice.

The first thing you need to do if you’re going to practice telepathic contact is partner with someone. Ideally, you should choose someone you’ve been good friends with for a long time. Choose someone who’s also open minded about telepathy and, if possible, pick a partner who also wants to learn this method of communication. Beginners benefit from positive reinforcement.

Next, you and your partner must separate from each other at least enough to where you can’t physically see each other. You also need to both relax as much as you possibly can. As with most things, being all tensed up will interfere and negatively impact your performance. Clear your minds of any stresses, worries about things, etc. Have a method of getting in touch with each other in the usual way available, such as a telephone.

Decide who’ll go first, then visualize the other person as clearly as you can in your mind. Alternate who is doing this, and imagine a connection between you. This connection can take many forms, but a string of light or something similar are very common images.

Now you’ll need to send your thoughts about a particular subject over that thread, as though they were part of a phone call or an Internet transmission. Start with something simple and clear, like a photograph you can see, or something that’s been on your mind. It should be something the other person can’t easily guess without contact.

When you feel that the telepathic transmission has been completed, the next step is contacting your partner to ask them if they saw anything, and what it was if they did. Compare notes, then trade places and have the other person send.

When you’re starting out, if you don’t feel like you’re able to make a transmission after fifteen minutes or so, take a break. Keep early attempts simple and brief so you’re not tired or frustrated. Negativity doesn’t help.

If you want to learn telepathy, the most important thing is to keep your mind positive about it, and don’t give up until you start to get results. You’ll be entering into a new and wondrous universe!
