Strategies for Improving the Results of Content Network PPC Campaigns

Internet marketers have been trying to gain an edge with PPC marketing for nearly a decade. The problem is that much of the information that has been published on PPC has been focused on search only instead of including search partners and content. These areas account for a significant amount of traffic and pay-per-click related revenue.

Much of the available information online comes from internet marketers who have extensive experience with pay per click marketing. The reality is that these folks have tried and failed on a large scale. They now share this information but at a high cost. The end result is that most online marketers abandon pay per click altogether and just focus on Google or Yahoo search.

The fact of the matter however is that you can make money on Content networks and others with the help of a little knowledge related to profitable content campaigns. Over time, as more marketers began using content to promote their products, new tools and techniques have emerged.

One of the most popular strategies is grouping related keywords for your content network Ad groups. An ad group is a set of related keywords used to trigger a pay-per-click ad. By using about 30 to 50 keywords per adgroup, search engines have a better way to classify your targeted content and serve up ads appropriately. The result is a higher click through rate, quality score, and corresponding cost reduction.

You can now find a number of online tools to help you improve your content network marketing. The most popular tool for PPC marketing on the content network is called Content Bully. There’s a small handful of other tools available but because so few people have succeeded withmarketing on Google’s Content Network, content specific PPC resources haven’t been created.

Consider using an online tool to help you evaluated which resources can most effectively transform your content network campaigns, resulting in lower costs and higher profitability. As many of you know, the challenge with content related campaigns is that it takes a lot of clicks before you can adequately assess a campaign’s effectiveness. This is where online tools like Content Bully come into play. You can spend more of your time on implementing your campaigns versus the tedious research of finding profitable campaigns.

In addition to finding profitable campaigns, informational tools can help you discover which affiliate products might do well on the Content Network. In general, popular products that have broad appeal do well. This is sometimes due to the amount of content being published related to that particular niche or product category.

After you’ve spent some time learning the ins and outs of content network advertising, it’s time to do your due diligence. Evaluate tools and resources related to PPC marketing. More importantly, become familiar with content network related advertising tools. Software that specifically address the content network is the most valuable and will be more effective than generic pay-per-click PPC resources. Read review and evaluate thoroughly. Give them a dry run if possible before choosing your content network advertising solution.

The Top SEO Strategies Of All Time

As someone who makes a living improving search engine rankings, I can tell you that there is a lot of bad information out there about SEO. What if I were to tell you that the road map for achieving top rankings was within your grasp? The holy grail of rankings is not imaginary. As is true with any major success, it leaves clues.

Having worked directly with hundreds of web sites I have discovered techniques for optimizing web sites that actually work. I often get question about SEO such as, “what is the one technique that works better than all others?” A difficult question to answer because I have found a number of techniques that are truly effective.

The first SEO ranking factor that has proven effective time and again is making sure that all inbound links to your web site have keywords in their anchor text. By placing keyword in the anchor text of these links, you are directing search engines to your website and individuals search for a particular keyword. I know that you can’t always control what someone names a link to your web site, but where you can, make sure it includes your keywords.

The second most important aspect of search engine factors is to include your keyword or keyword phrase in your title tag. This is important not only for search engines to identify your page but it becomes what is displayed in search engine results lists. In addition to the title tag, make sure to include your keyword and keyword phrases in both the description tag and keywords meta tag.

The third ranking factor to consider for your web site is link popularity. This phrase has been talked about in search engine circles for a while but can be equated with Page Rank. The concept of Page rank or link popularity for that matter take a number of factors into consideration to identify the quality of web pages from an external perspective. The largest factor that influences search engine rankings is the number and quality of links that are pointing to a web site or web page.

The fourth most important way to improve rankings is with a diverse number of inbound links to your web site from different IP addresses. Having tons of inbound links from a single site is never as valuable as having inbound links from a number of diverse and separate web sites. Focus your link building strategies among different domains versus a single domain. This will dramatically improve results.

The fifth ranking factor is placing your keywords in your root domain. If you are unable to acquire a domain that has www.yourkeyword.com as the format, don’t despair. You can vary your domain by including words before or after your keyword. Short of being able to acquire such a domain, place your keywords using a subdomain structure or placing a folder on your root domain. This can have a positive impact on your overall rankings.

All of the top five ranking factors will work for you. I have personally seen them dramatically improve rankings for even the smallest web sites. Make sure that you address each factor. In combination, these factors have the most impact. By addressing the top ranking factors for your web site, you’ll be able to add additional search engine optimization techniques to ensure top placement over the long term..

Announcing Proven Search Engine Optimization Methods

SEO is made up of two different disciplines that must work with one another to be truly successful. The two areas you have to master including on page optimization and off page optimization. Web sites that are expert at both can achieve search engine optimization success.

Any powerful search engine optimization strategy is a combination of having the write strategy and applying necessary elements of that strategy in the right order. The same can be said for SEO. To win at the game of SEO, you need to be willing to focus on on-page optimization before off-page optimization. This means that you are concentrating your efforts on navigation, web site architecture, and Meta tags. Beginning with on-page optimization ensures long-term success.

When considering on-page optimization, most people like to start with URLs. It is true that having your keyword in a domain name can help, but it’s not all you should be focused on. This is more of a factor in rankings for Yahoo and MSN versus Google. Google weighs more than 150 factors when evaluating your web site and many of them are off page related. Regardless, consider URLs that include part or all of your keyword phrase.

It is true that putting your keyword phrase in your URL is beneficial even though it is not the end all be all. This is especially true with engines like Yahoo and Bing. One thing you can do is to use a sub-domain strategy. This means setting up sub domains from your main site that include the keyword you’re optimization for. An example of this would be: sneakers.yoursite.com where your site is the name of your main web site.

Another option you can deploy is to create new pages that include your keyword as part of the URL. This is almost as as good as the sub-domain strategy and very easy to implement. Simply create a folder or page on your server that includes your keyword. An example would be: Yoursite.com/sneakers. By adding the keywords as part f your URL, you are improving your chances of appearing in search results given other on page SEO criteria is met.

Your URL is only one of may on-page optimization factors you should be paying attention to. When I’m asked which factors are the most important to any search engine optimization effort, I usually emphasis clean code and fast load times. Search engines like Google want to make sure browsers have a good experience. If they started serving up really bad web sites in the number of ranking, you wouldn’t be using their search engine. Check your site for coding errors and measure how long it takes for the pages to load.

Once you’ve covered on page optimization attributes associated with a high ranking web site, you should\its time to focus on off page optimization. Off page optimization is really a function of how the search engines see your site and how other web pages link to your own web site or blog. Off page optimization is often equated to link building as building external links to your site is at the core of search engine optimization.

Start with on-page optimization to build a strong foundation to your web site. Once you have the proper URL structure and address other on page optimization factors, you will be in a good position to roll out your link building strategy. As you develop more inbound links, your search engine results will improve.

Understanding SEO and SEM For Marketing Success

If you are new to Internet marketing, you may have some questions about the difference among search engine optimization and search engine marketing. These core marketing subjects are very different but share a number of similarities as well.

First, lets focus on how search engine optimization (SEO) and search marketing (SEM) are similar. Each of these online marketing techniques requires a basic and advanced understanding. SEO requires knowledge of search engine and how to effectively optimize a website or web page. SEM requires knowledge and understanding about online marketing, online advertising, and keyword marketing.

Both online marketing methods can be rather complex yet at the same time relatively simple. SEO can be boiled down to this. Where your site is ranked on major search engines is a direct result of your understanding and application of best practices in the area of SEO.

Search engine marketing is based on an understanding of online ad campaigns that are implemented on advertising networks. The largest online ad network is Google followed by Yahoo! and MSN. These ad networks basically work the same way. You open an ad account, place an online ad, and when users search for terms related to your ad, the advertisement displays. When someone clicks on your ad, you pay a fee.

Search engine optimization is different from search engine marketing in many ways. SEO is defined as the organic result that shows up in search engine results pages after a user generates a query. Techniques associated with SEO are broken down into on-page optimization and off page-optimization. These techniques have their own nuances but are independent of one another.

The result is that SEO drives organic traffic. That is to say that after users complete searches on major search engines like Google, the resulting list is based on search engines returning the best result determined by their unique algorithm. When users click on these results you do not pay. Organic search is usually referred to as free traffic.

Search engine marketing is different than SEO because with SEM you pay only when users take a specific action. Unlike traditional advertising you do not pay for an ad to simply appear. Rather, you pay when a browser clicks on your ad. Your advertising costs are related to a number of factors including keyword competitiveness and ad placement.

Anyone doing business online really needs to study and become and expert in both SEO and SEM. These two disciplines drive your online success and can either make or break a legitimate online business. Learn more by subscribing to a blog or reading information online. Each piece of information you add can have a significant impact on your results.

Finding An Online School That’s Right For You

Finding an online school or program to meet your degree requirements can be an overwhelming process. But don’t despair. The hard part of choosing to go back to school to finish your degree or learn a new skill is over. Now you can focus on finding the online program that meets your needs.

One of the best ways to chose an online learning program or course is to complete an online search. For individuals who are not quite sure which type of online college can meet their needs, web based research is recommended. If you are looking for business programs, visit a search engine and and type in online business programs. Then, research each of the results.

With just a little research, you can create a brief list of potential online programs. Your list should include possible schools and the criteria that are important to you. How do these schools rank against your criteria? Each school or program should be evaluated independently and objectively.

Be disciplined when you review what each online program has to offer. One way you can do this is by thinking through what is most important to you and then measuring each school against these criteria. Call the school you are thinking of applying to and speak with someone on the admissions team. This gives you a good idea of the school you are evaluating.

If you need help with your application you can work with the college to answer your questions. Online schools and programs are always looking for the right students for their college. As you move through the application process continue to ask more questions and complete your application before submission.

Going to school online isn’t for everyone. But if you have already decided that online learning is in your future, then start researching online schools and narrow you list to those that meet your needs.

What PPC Can Teach Your About SEO

The more I work with Internet marketing, the more I learn that all types of marketing are intertwined. In fact, many forms of marketing, like PPC can be critical to launching successful search engine optimization campaigns.

Just a like a company’s house list, the information they gather from their own PPC campaigns can provide a significant boost to the effectiveness of their search engine optimization efforts. The key is to know what information you’re looking for and how to use it to generate qualified visitors to your website.

One of the most effective ways to use PPC is to drive qualified traffic to your website. Essentially, the way that pay-per-click works is that targeted keywords trigger an ad to appear. When the ad is displayed, users click-through to a landing page or website. These qualified visitors are the one’s you want. With a little investigation and knowledge of the specific keywords that generate conversions, you can better focus your efforts for finding and attracting the right visitors to your website.

Once you’ve done your homework and you know which keywords generate the greatest number of click-through and most importantly conversions, you are then in a position to use PPC to support SEO. More specifically, by finding the converting keywords, you can focus your SEO efforts around those terms that convert. These are the phrases that you want to appear in the number one organic position.

By looking at your PPC results, you can quickly find the keywords that lead to conversions. This information is golden. Not only can you use this to generate more traffic to your website, but you can also use this information to drive the right kind of traffic to your site. With the right focus, you can improve conversions and lower costs - because you’re not attracted bad traffic, rather, you’re only attracting the type of browsers who want your product or service.

One way to think about this is a company that’s selling widgets. If they use PPC, they probably know that the term, discount widget converts the highest of any keyword term. As a result, they should be focusing their organic campaigns around optimizing that particular keyword. Once the phrase appears at the top of the search results, one can reduce the amount spent via pay per click and enjoy the benefits of targeted traffic.

The last piece is to take your highest converting landing pages and build in some or all of the elements into your website. Once you’ve tracking and optimized landing pages via PPC, you can duplicate what you’ve learned from a conversion perspective organically. Consider applying the landing page elements that have generated the highest return for you on your pay-per-click advertising.

Whether you’re new to SEO or consider yourself a search engine optimization expert, leveraging your pay-per-click advertising is the best investment you can make. Determine which keywords generate the type of traffic that is most valuable to you and optimize around these terms. They will generate more traffic and revenue at a lower cost.
