At this moment you should probably be asking yourself whether or not there is really anything to say about hangers that would be worth a full article. This is a very valid question, and one should certain question whether or not there is anything worth putting in print. These are just hangers, right? They’re meant to hold clothes off the floor. End of story. Right?
Do you know how many different types of hangers are, in fact, available to your Average Ordinary Joe? While it has to be said that no matter how you look at it, a hanger is still a device for organizing articles of clothing, that doesn’t mean that all hangers are created equal.
The intention here is not to encourage a strange obsession over the style of hangers that you use to be stylish, but it is a simple attempt to show that there are more options available than the standard dollar-store cheapies. Many of them are actually still very comparable in price.
For example, if you have a desire to enhance your closet with an elegant look, then wooden hangers are you best choice. You decisions don’t stop there, though. You still have the type of wood to choose. This can be anything from walnut to cedar to bamboo.
On the other hand, you might prefer the look of shiny chrome on your hangers. You can get metal hangers in a range of shapes and sizes, some of them with a special coating that will hold onto your clothes even better. Of course, the chrome may look nice, but you have to remember that the skinnier metal hangers may not hold as much weight as their wooden counterparts.
And don’t forget all the specialized hangers. Sure, you say, any old hanger can hold up one pair of slacks, but were you aware of the specialty hangers that can hold three or four pairs in a nice, space saving order? They’re easier to get than you might think.
There is still the option for plastic hangers. You don’t have to go for the old, cheap things. There are a wide range of plastic hanger styles, and you can get them in bulk if you have special needs, such as purchasing for a clothing store. You can get them in many shapes and sizes, from children’s hangers to special shaper hangers.
This dissertation on the nature of modern hangers is, understandably, not going to convince you that there’s anything new about hangers. They still hold your clothes off the floor. But perhaps you will consider adding a little character to your closet, and that would be enough.
When choosing hangers for your new home or simply reorganizing your closet, be sure to really consider wooden hangers. They are elegant and they are stronger than the other hangers.
